My husband and I visited Kendra’s home for two nights and had a great stay. The rooftop private patio is like none other, offering 360 degree views. Manuel, the house manager, was wonderful at check-in and check-out. He offered excellent local tips, that were helpful for our trip. The breakfast delivery was convenient. Across the street there was a hotel that offered WiFi for 2 CUD per hour, if needed. Would recommend this home to others. Thanks for a great visit in your city!
I only stayed for one night but the 360 degree view is worth checking out. I wold highly recommend this place.
Manual, the property manager, met us at the place on time. Check-in was easy, and he gave us a great overview of the place and city. The complimentary water and coffee was nice before we found a nearby cafe. We purchased the breakfast basket for two one of the mornings and it was a nice and easy way to start the second day. The rooftop was amazing for watching the sunset and having a drink. This place is as good as advertised. All communications prior to the visit were prompt and detailed. We found the phone useful, and used it to schedule a couple reservations.
Penthouse Tropicana was a getaway. It has a beautiful private rooftop view with tables and chairs to lounge around in. The inside of the apartment is perfect for two people. A nice king sized bed, a clean bathroom, and a kitchen stocked with drinks. There’s an elevator to get to the penthouse and several gates you must unlock before you reach the apartment. This made me feel incredibly safe! Manuel was amazing! He was very informative, patient, and understanding during check in and check out. The location is a gem! I thought it was perfect as you are in between Old Havana (Habana Vieja) and Vedado. You get a taste of the raw, unfiltered Havana (and I mean this in the best and safest way possible). Although there isn’t any WiFi in the apartment, if you walk a block towards the Malecon you will find people out on the street using their phones (a good indication of WiFi). There’s also tons of taxis around as there is a hotel nearby. Overall, my partner and I really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again! I would definitely recommend!
I had the great fortune of moving to the Tropicana Penthouse after a 5-day stay at the Casa Concordia (see my very long review on Tripadvisor for it....) when my daughter joined me for the second leg of my visit in this incredible city!
By then I was already thoroughly spoiled by the most amazingly wonderful team of staff that Jonathan and Kendra work with. Manuel and Yanitza were almost like family by then! They continued to take great care of us at the Tropicana and Manuel went out of his way to make reservation at one of the best restaurants, El Cocinero, for my daughter's birthday! We were most grateful. He was most patient and helpful.
And as for the place! With its breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city, the penthouse terrace inspired my daughter and I to compete for the best sunset photo taken ever (I think she won)! It is in a different neighbourhood from the Casa Concordia but equally convenient and much closer to the Malecon. We explored different routes and different neighbourhoods to get about the city and to Old Havana, and chanced upon locals' fruit cart where we bought the most amazing/best mango in the world!
The nicely furnished apartment is compact and cozy, in a more modern apartment building then Casa Concordia and it has the largest, most comfortable King size bed! The witty decoration of photos of Frank Sinatra and the feathered costume pieces bring back flavour of Tropicana's heyday.
For the 4 days that we stayed at the Tropicana, Manuel helped to arrange another couple of day trips to Soroa, Las Terrazas and the beach with our favourite driver and tour guide. The journeys for these trips were as enlightening as the destinations through oftentimes entertaining and informative conversations with them all along the way. Stops at roadside restaurants offered the best simple authentic Cuban "home cooking" food.
Between Casa Concordia and the Tropicana, Kendra and Jonathan have created these unique, remarkable experiences where we can all have a window into city life as lived by local people, instead of being in the bubble of touristy hotels.
Thanks to Jonathan and Kendra's team's seamless organization, our departure ride to the airport at 5 am in the morning was just as memorable. Yoel shared with us his near celebrity status as one of the 12 vintage car owners who has taken Madonna, Zucchero around Havana when they came! He and his car were in a YouTube clip with Zucchero. He also made the best last minute shopping recommendation at the airport - Cuban coffee!
Let me just start by saying that I proposed to my now - fiancee on the roof of this beautiful Havana apartment last Saturday evening, which tells you how much we loved the place. The penthouse is beautiful and very comfortable and the balcony overlooks the malecon, in which you are able to get a great view of the ocean and the entire city. Manuel, the manager was wonderful—very friendly and extremely helpful. Anytime we had questions, he texted us back immediately and was very informative about any questions we had. He even waited for us to arrive to the airBnB after being 3 hours late past our scheduled arrival time (due to unexpected circumstances at the airport). He is truly a pleasure to be around and a very nice guy. We're going to remember our stay for the rest of our lives, it will truly be a special place for us.
Kendra's place is a great central location to explore Havana. The balcony is unmatched and the support you get from them made our trip to Havana incredibly easier. We booked 3 tours with these guys with English speaking guides also and we had 0 complaints. Thanks Kendra :)

We planned our trip on very short notice and from the moment we booked, Kendra and Jonathan helped us every step of the way. We felt very welcome and comfortable knowing that we had them to reach out to with our questions. Once we arrived in Havana, Manuel was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. He gave us lots of recommendations and booked restaurant reservations for us (which ended up being amazing). The apartment itself is very spacious, clean and well decorated. We felt very comfortable and had everything we needed - there were even snacks and drinks if we needed them. The balcony is incredible and gives you a spectacular view of Havana. We spent time out there every day. We felt very safe in this building and in the neighbourhood.
We had the breakfast for a couple of days and would absolutely recommend it - we wouldn’t have known where to get breakfast otherwise. It was delicious and was more than enough to have for both breakfast and lunch. The city car tour is an absolute must. We really felt like we saw every part of Havana and the driver was very friendly. I would absolutely book another tour with him when I go back to Havana and would recommend him to anyone visiting. We also arranged for him to drive us to the airport (for our 7am flight) which we highly recommend. Ultimately we felt like we experienced the “real Havana” staying at the Tropicana penthouse, were well taken care of, and would highly recommend it.
We had an wonderful time at Kendras place! The apartment was really nice and clean, and with an huge private terrace with an INCREDIBLE view. Best way to start your day in La Habana with coffee, breakfast and watching the sun rice. Also, the apartment is located in a really great area of Havana, close to the old town, the malecon and salsa places in the center. Highly recommended! Can't wait to go back :)
Just a few notes that may not be obvious from the description - the wonderful terrace catches the sun from dawn until shortly before sunset; It is only a short walk (10 minutes) to the Pasel del Prado where you can sit in the lobby of the Parque Central hotel and use probably the best wifi in town! You can change cash at the Hotel Deauville a block away, which you can't always do in other hotels. All in all a great and unique place to stay :)
Kendra is an excellent host!!! She was extremely prompt in answering all our questions leading up to the trip, recommended amazing restaurants and activities, and booked everything for us ahead of time. Also, Kendra gives you a Cuban cellphone with pre-loaded phone numbers for anything you might need. This came in extremely handy! The apartment itself couldn’t have been better, minus a better overhead fan. Truly, that is the only complaint! It was a great location, walkable to almost anything you want to do or see, and extremely safe. The views alone are reason to book. Thank you so much, Kendra !! We will be back.
The Tropicana Penthouse is a traveler's dream come true. The 360 degree view of Havana from the terrace was worth every penny. I suggest booking the daily breakfast - it was simple but delicious - and eating out on the terrace was the perfect way to start the day. We took the City of Havana car tour that was booked through the Air BnB which was great! Our driver was amazing. One thing to note: take more cash than you think you'll need. Manuel, the house manager, was available during our entire stay and had some great suggestions for us. He booked our restaurant reservations before our arrival which turned out to be the best meal we had at La Tierra in the Fabrica de Arte. All in all I can't wait to go back. We miss the terrace already!
This place is as good as everyone says- it is a respite from the heat and chaos and noise of Havana. Miguel, the super, is attentive and extremely professional, with excellent English. The delivered breakfast was such a delight..... This AirBnb exceeds any hotel experience in Havana and is on par with the rave reviews that AirBnBs get in Havana (which is a whole class above what AirBnBs are in the US.) As expected, an AirBnb far outperforms a hotel in Havana. And since Americans aren’t allowed to stay in hotels right now, this AirBnb will do the trick. With such a wonderful private space at Tropicana Penthouse, we recommend that you get the courage to try the little local take-out food spots nearby and bring food back to the apartment to eat on the patio. So much cheaper than eating out at the restaurants for every meal, and a great way to really enjoy the space that you have paid for. This location is excellent - stay here, in Centro, not in Old Havana, which is too touristy and too noisy with campy music. Centro is more genuine and convenient to the best restaurants and “real” Havana. Watching the Malecon at sunset is something you cannot do from anywhere else! We loved our stay and we hope to return to Tropicana Penthouse. You cannot ask for a better experience in Havana.

One of the best places I've ever stayed in! Absolutely no issues in finding the place nor checking in. Very clean with a decent shower and very comfortable bed. But the real gem is the panoramic terrace - amazing to relax on in the morning and have a few drinks at sunset time before heading out. Would definitely recommend having breakfast delivered - it's good and just lovely to eat overlooking the sea and old Havana. We also did the private salsa lesson on the terrace which was great (our dancing not so good, but we managed to pull off the basic steps and turns at a salsa club later that evening). The room comes with an immensely helpful phone that you can use to contact restaurants, the apartment manager ( Manuel - very helpful) , taxis and perhaps most usefully - there is an offline map on the phone to help you navigate the old town. For wifi, there is a tall blue coloured hotel nearby where you can buy an Internet card - but don't stay in the hotel lounge to use the Internet - go to the Malecon sea wall across the street (the signal stretches there) and hang out with all the locals getting their internet fix. This place is amazing!!
Such a great experience staying in this flat, the view out over Havana is breathe taking and an incredible location. So many great tips and helpful and thoughtful ways the stay was made easy and enjoyable, including having a private salsa lesson booked on the veranda. Couldn't recommend the Penthouse more highly.

Our 4 night stay at the Tropicana Penthouse was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the bedroom was air-conditioned, the kitchen was well put together... honestly no complaints at all. As advertised, the view was absolutely stunning. The pictures dont do it justice. Kendra was very responsive in advance of the trip and provided many suggestions for things to do and see around Havana and helped us arrange two tours. Yoel, who took us on two tours was incredible. On-time to pick us up and very flexible on the tour. Yes, as some comments point out, the tour cost was a bit more than what you can find in the street but you are paying for peace-of-mind, a highly professional guide, and a car that is second to none (a beautiful classic teal Chevy Bel Air). I would rebook a tour with him in a heartbeat. Manuel, who met us on our arrival and checked us out at the end was extremely professional and helpful throughout the trip. He was very nice and made sure we had all questions answered before we were left to explore the city. We didn't utilize the phone too often but felt comfortable knowing he was available on the other end if anything did happen. When we weren't able to get a reservation at our preferred restaurant on Saturday night, he went and booked us on Sunday. It was a great gesture. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and would highly recommend the unit to anyone else considering it.
This is one of the best room you can stay in Centro Habana. It's located amongst the locals in a renovated apartment complex. Kendra was away, but Manuel greeted us on our arrival there. He is very kind and thorough about the whole stay. I have to give them extra stars for the tips and recos for your stay in Havana. They know the best bars, restaurants, activities to do in Havana and beyond. Kendra was kind enough to help us book some Paladar reservations which have been a little tricky without having a local number / speak Spanish. There are some amenities that are offered which we find useful: the local phone provided, the guidebooks, the USB drive loaded with some Cuban movies/music. But all in all, you are paying for the views and the very central location. The outdoor deck is simply amazing and you do get 360 view of Havana.

In writing this review, I was prompted to choose the one thing I loved the most about our stay in the Tropicana Penthouse: Stylish Space, Outstanding Hospitality, Amazing Amenities, Thoughtful Touches, Local Tips, Quick Responses, and Sparkling Clean. It was all of these and more. The condo itself is appointed with pictures of Havana in the 50's, period furniture, and a king sized bed. One wall is made up of two sets of sliding glass doors which look out towards Old Havana and the ocean. The view from the patio is 360 Degrees and encompasses everything from the Malecon, to the capitol building, to Plaza de la Revolucion, and beyond. Manuel met us for check-in at nearly midnight, and still took the time to point out key parts of the city and answer any and every question we had. Manuel was extremely friendly, organized, responsive, and knowledgeable. He arranged a city tour of Havana in a beautiful 1956 Chevy Belair, a trip to Vinales in a classic Plymouth, private salsa lessons on our incredible rooftop patio, breakfast delivered every morning, and a ride to the airport after checkout. The unit was loaded with resources: books and guides on Cuba, Maps of Havana, a list of recommendations for cafes, restaurants, nightspots, and sights to see. Another great perk was a stocked mini bar with water, rum, and snacks. Manuel equipped us with a local cell phone which was preloaded with contacts for all the hotspots in town, and included an interactive map to guide the way. As for responsiveness, Kendra was very communicative before our trip, and responded to my questions timely and effectively. I would highly recommend staying at the Tropicana Penthouse, our experience in Havana wouldn't have been the same without it.
I would absolutely recommend Tropicana Penthouse to anybody looking for a cozy studio with a magnificent terrace that overlooks the entirety of Havana. Not only is everything as described in the listing, but the bed is tremendously comfortable, and silence up there is perfect; you'll sleep like a rock to make the most out of your time awake in Cuba. Moreover, Manuel (the manager) is on top of everything, everything is on time, and Kendra is a great communicator--she even provided a great idea for how to rethink my trip when our flight into Cuba was cancelled because of a local pilot strike. Five stars, hyper-recommended!
Great location for walking to the oceanfront and very comfortable to stay in.
Kendra and Jonathan's 10th floor apartment is a sanctuary and a comfort when it comes to the gritty state outside on the streets. The wrap around deck was where we spent every morning eating breakfast and every night before heading out to dinner, just taking in the gorgeous views. The AC works great and the apartment is very clean and beautifully decorated. A great thing about staying at Kendra and Jonathan's is the fact that they offer several day trips for you to do with a private driver. We did the Vinales trip and the trip to Varadero Beach. Both were excellent choices.

We loved our stay at the Tropicana Penthouse. The apartment was beautiful, clean, and perfectly located to explore Havana! The view from the rooftop was incredible. We spent hours just looking out over the city taking in the views and the life around us. Kendra & Jonathan were a pleasure to work with and provided excellent recommendations for our stay. In addition, we booked a few tours through them, and everything went very smoothly. Manuel (manager) and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We look forward to a return visit!
This property is beyond amazing. It's in a great location, close to the Malecon and within walking distance to Old Havana. The view, oh my gosh the view, it's to die for. The apartment itself is perfect and exactly what you need in Havana, it's well above street level (trust me this is important because of the pollution), has awesome AC, hot water, it's spotless and very well appointed. The cell phone comes in SO handy, having the map available made getting around really easy. Breakfast delivery is a must, Maybel is an absolute sweetheart, the breakfast is plentiful and really delicious! And then there's Manuel, oh my gosh, he is amazing. Manuel will help you with anything you need during your trip from making dinner reservations, changing reservations on the fly, speaking with drivers to make sure they'll be on time and know where to pick you up/drop you off. He's also just a really nice person and happy to answer any questions you may have about Cuba to make your trip unforgettable. You honestly can't ask for anything more perfect. Let me start by saying we enjoyed our stay at the Tropicana Penthouse, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We did purchase the daily breakfast with large warm croissants, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs, fruit juice, mixed fresh fruit, jam and butter daily delivered in a basket was convenient, and the ladies that delivered the food were very pleasant). We didn't use the provided cell phone (for 10 cuc) much either we primarily texted Manuel for questions, but it was very nice to have in case of emergency. Manuel is very charming and was there to greet us.....we always felt pretty safe. Overall it was very nice and the rooftop balcony overlooking the city with very nice seating was amazing.....also there is a small mini bar, with price list available, and the room has great information about Cuba.
This place was great, its in a perfect spot right next to the Malecon and right down the street from central square. The best part was the manager Manuel. He did a great job in helping me figure out what to see and where to go and even made me dinner reservations. He spoke perfect english as well. Manuel is the reason i will stay here if i come back to havana.
This place is amazing. It is the perfect amount of space to cool off after a hot Havana afternoon exploring and has all the amenities you could ask for and more! The terrace offered some mesmerizing views of the city and provided the perfect setting for morning coffee, the salsa lesson that we booked with them, and incredible views of the sunset. They were great about communicating with me and recommending places in the neighborhood and around town. When our flight was delayed, forcing us to push our trip back a day, they were helpful with rescheduling some of our activities and arranging for our late check-in. Staying here definitely helped make our trip to Havana unforgettable.
Right at the door of the apartment we were greeted by the manager of the apartment. Don’t be fooled by your first impression, the neighborhood has a lot of bars and restaurants as well as nightlife - so it is very safe during day and night.
Walking into the apartment building you could imagine how beautiful the old staircase used to be. Once we opened the door to the apartment we were blown away. Pictures can’t do this justice. Its a very nice mix of new and old elements. The many balconies, colorful tile floors, and high ceilings gave you a colonial like feeling. Each of the 3 rooms were beautifully appointed, with well working A/C (which you will need).
After we settled in, the manager explained us every feature, went through the tours we booked, as well as restaurant reservations, explained us the wifi, the phone and gave us general advise. (He was always available for questions at our fingertip via text massage which was excellent)
We reserved restaurants via Kendra in advance, all of her choices were excellent!
As there are two very nice guys operating the elevator, it ads a level of safety, as they also function as door man.
The tour booked with the apartment, was very nice, the english speaking tour guide was charming, and our driver was very friendly.
We also arranged an airport transfer via the apartment, which worked perfect since it was the same driver.
We ordered the full breakfast every morning - which is worth the money. She came every morning and prepared a beautiful breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, fresh fruit juice, fresh eggs, cold cuts and jam, as well as croissants. She was incredibly nice and charming and did everything to make us fell at home.
She also overlooked the apartment and the minibar, and gave us a lot of useful advice as well. Cleaning every day, and change of linen ever other day worked perfect.
I want to mention that there is one coffee machine and one espresso machine as well as a fully equipped kitchen free to use. All basic things like salt, pepper and sugar are also there and free to use - so its easy to buy some food and prepare at home - which we did not do.
A well stocked mini bar with fair prices is also available.
In conclusion, I can highly recommend you this property as has all the benefits of staying in a luxury apartment as well as offering you hotel service at the same time.
The tropicana manager Manuel was waiting to greet us at the doorstep as our taxi arrived! The check in process was simple and Manuel was extremely helpful with explaining the location and giving us tips for Cuba. The view alone from the balcony makes the stay worthwhile...let alone the service from the host!
The perfect place to stay in Cuba! Great location right near the Malécon, walking distance to Old Havana, and a short cab ride to the neighborhoods of Miramar and Vedado. The host booked all of our tours and dinner reservations, and everything was perfect. They gave us a list of recommendations and everywhere we went was excellent. They also provided us with a Cuban cell phone so we could text the property manager or our driver, and it had an offline map we used to get around town. Comfortable bed, AC, a nice bathroom with plenty of hot water, and the best porch that overlooks Havana and the water. I can't imagine having stayed anywhere else!
We split our stay in Havana between a "4-star" hotel (1 awful night) and this AirBnB (5 wonderful nights!) for the same cost per night. The Tropicana penthouse was by far a WAY better experience. The hotels in Cuba are not to the same standard as other countries. Other visitors we met had similar nightmares in the Cuban hotels. But the Tropicana has been recently renovated to American/European-like quality, something rare to find in this country. It felt brand new, despite being in one of the oldest and most interesting parts of the city. As with everywhere else in Havana, you cannot drink the tap water, but at the Tropicana it always worked, as did the brand new, silent A/c unit and other things we take for granted in our home countries. The same could not be said for the hotels. The property manager, Manuel, was extremely helpful to us. He was waiting for us at the apartment at the agreed time, despite several days of no communication (my phone did not work in Cuba). We were so happy he could be depended on, since we were foreigners without a way to call anyone. The instructions to gain access the apartment were very clear (they will be sent you via email...print this off before coming in case your phones don't work!). The apartment was perfectly clean, and the cleaner came again halfway through our stay to tidy up. The bed was AMAZING, king-size, soft clean white sheets, and very comfortable. And the mini-fridge was fully stocked with plenty of options available. And the wrap-around rooftop patio had the best views of the city and ocean. I loved sipping coffee out there every morning on a lounge chair, watching the sun rise. The area is very safe, only a block from the Malecon oceanside avenue where there are tons of taxis available. Being on the 10th floor, we were well above the street noise and enjoyed quiet sleep each night. Did I mention the view? I also recommend the tours offered by the property owner. Manuel and the owners know all the right people to make your Cuba trip unforgettable.
The view!!! The wrap around Terrace gives you an amazing view of Havana. In the morning you have the sun come up behind the fort and and at night you have the sunset into the ocean. The apartment is great and located in Centro Havana. Its a short 10 minute walk to Parque Central. The manager Manuel was also very nice and helpful and you could contact him if you had any questions. It has a comfortable king bed and a good shower. It has a small kitchen with a microwave, mini fridge and sink which is useful. There is a Tv with some movies and music on it and they even had a portable Bluetooth speaker to play your tunes on. But really the attraction of this apartment and what you are paying for is the terrace and the view. We paid extra for the breakfast they deliver to the apartment each morning which included some hot scrambled eggs, bread, ham and cheese, fruit, juice and butter and jam. Eating breakfast on the terrace in the morning was so nice and the best part of the stay at the penthouse. Great place loved the stay here and I hope to come back again one day.

This gem of a penthouse is in center of Havana's trendiest neighborhood, walking distance to great restaurants, the malecon and more. With 360 terrace views of the entire city, you'll be living la Vida Cuba! The condo was equipped with every convenience. We particularly enjoyed the loungers, umbrella, beautiful beach towels and spacious outdoor area for morning coffee, midday workouts and sunset relaxing. We used the local phone for GPS navigation and the Host's list of superb dining and live music hotspots to navigate the city with ease. Thank you Kendra for all the cool restaurant suggestions. We used your list of neighborhood hotspots during our entire stay and it truly made a difference to our exploration of Havana.

Tropicana Penthouse is a beautiful modern Penthouse located in the heart of Havana! Within walking distance to all the best restaurants and tourist sites, I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Cuba. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, housekeeping was available to come clean every couple days which was also a great help! Our manager, Manuel, was amazing! Our trip would definitely not have been the same without him! All of the recommendations provided by Tropicana Penthouse- and specifically Manuel- were really helpful in creating the perfect experience during our stay! He would help us with reservations and answer any questions that would come up. The host provided a local cell phone which included an offline map that was also a great help while exploring the city.
I will tell you as an American I really appreciated the amenities Tropicana Penthouse offered that made me feel right at home after being out and about in the city all day. Last but not least, the view from the private terrace was absolutely breathtaking- one of the main reasons we booked this place and I will tell you it is something you don't want to miss!

Perched above scenic Havana, right near the Malecon, and a few minutes walk from Havana Vieja. The views and the place were incredible, with centralized location and reliable amenities. There was a special feeling to returning to this apartment after a long day exploring Havana. You feel lofted above the city and the views, daytime or night, beckons lingering and meditation. So much to see! The quality of the apartment was great for Havana, which implies a level of finish and comfort that was proportionally excellent to the surroundings as a nice hotel would be in another country. The amazing view of the city and ocean really set this place apart, location is excellent - the surrounding central Havana is gritty but that added to the fun and made for some excellent walking near the apartment (but be careful and say no to scam artists who will try to sell you cigars and guiding services!!!). Communication is excellent. They even give you a local cell phone to use during your stay - That was very helpful!! The manager and cleaning lady were highly professional, on time, met all expectations.....stunning view!

Fantastic location with a very professional host. Jonathan has been responsive to every request we've made and even helped us with last minute dinner reservations. As for the view, it's unparalleled. You get a 360 view of Havana, giving you the feeling of being in a Hitchcock movie. Highly recommend staying here!
This is a fantastic apartment in a great central Havana location. It is very secure and has tremendous views (360 degrees) from its terrace. Kendra and Jonathan also arranged some great city activities and booked some great restaurants for us. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay in the luxury penthouse of Kendra and Jonathan. This awesome apartment combines the charm of the 50s and the comfort and facilities of today. Everything was perfectly organized - right down to the last detail. The manager Manuel and the two ladies working for Kendra are very friendly and have been very flexible. It was truly amazing to return after an exciting day in Havana to this modern "palacio" and to have a last drink on the gorgeos terrace. I would definitively recommend this superb place.
This is a wonderful place to stay while in Havana. EVERYTHING Jonathon and Kendra recommended was outstanding. We met our friends who were staying at another AirBNB and their experience was nothing like ours. A wonderful minibar selection, beautiful views, hot showers and comfortable bed, and the living space on the outside deck is larger than ANY other space you will find to lounge in. They give you a list of places to eat, cafes, bars and all are exceptionally good. We missed our fist air connection and instead of getting in at 4 we did not arrive until 8. No problem. The manager was there as we stepped out of the taxi and had already turned on the AC. They are responsive to every text and message your entire stay. The phone they give you already has contacts in with addresses so your taxi drivers know exactly where you are going. Wonderful visit!
This place is Amazing!!! I was blown away, the photos do not do it justice. The room was well decorated, clean, and spacious. The bed is one of the most important things for me. I usually pick places due to how nice the bed is, and this one was great. We were very comfortable and happy here. The balcony is everything! It was so much larger then I thought it was going to be. The views are breathtaking and the vibe is very authentic. We almost never wanted to leave... but once we did we had the most amazing time due to hard work and efforts put in buy our hosts. Johnathon was clearly committed to making sure that we were happy and that he was available 24/7. He set us up with many amenities, leads, and suggestions that made our trip unforgettable. It was truly a full service experience. I highly recommend this place! I will be back!!
Kendra and Jonathan's place was incredible. All the amenities you can ever want or need with the best service possible. The best part about their place if the location and the large terrace. Their location is close to all the best restaurants, and you can walk to most notable locations in Havana Viejo. Manuel and Jonathan provided some excellent advice and recommendations when we first arrived and even made a few reservations for us. The renovations of the apartment and the attention to historical detail were also a nice touch. Overall I would highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.
The place is great, you can't beat the views. The room has everything you need and the Hosts were great. We will stay there again, hopefully soon.
Amazing views. It is in the heart of Old Havana so walking distance to a lot of very cool things to see and do. Kendra and Jonathan were great hots. They took lots of time with me and not only made sure my stay was comfortable in their home but made sure I knew where to go and what to do in Havana. The best amenity? They provided a cell phone. That was great because I have been in Havana 3 other times and was completely disconnected from the world. This time I had a way to communicate with my friends in Havana.
Great views and great experience overall. Hosts were excellent with providing recommendations and making arrangements. Location is excellent, pretty central to all the places visited. Thanks for a great stay!
First and foremost, for those who are curious..Cuba is Amazing. The people, the culture, the joy you feel from the locals who you end up interacting with is addicting. Its a vibe thats commonly found throughout the city of Havana and we were lucky enough to have had this experience when we visited last week. The penthouse was fabulous. The views from the balcony give you a unique view of both the ocean, old Havana,Central Havana, and beyond. We were greeted upon arrival like an old friend, and had detailed descriptions about the place we would call home for the next couple of days and the surrounding districts. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the personal touches, the special attention, and the education about the culture we would be visiting. A local cell phone was given to us to use during our trip from our hosts that had some pre programmed places to see/visit if you were interested. And with that list of things to do, places to visit (cafe's, restaurants, landmarks, local markets, venues etc) it allowed us to not waste anytime. I highly recommend staying at this property when choosing to visit Cuba as it is second to none. If you have any questions, please fell free to ask me.
We had a great experience. We arrived a little late, but the caretaker was ready to show us in. A tropical storm rolled in, so we relaxed on the balcony in the rain and looked out over Havana. Amazing experience. Clean. Good location. As advertised.
This is the best place to stay in Havana. The host was very receptive to questions prior to our visit and coordinated very well to the property manager (Yanitza). The property manager was waiting for us when we arrived and got us all set up without any problems - we arrived quite late in the evening and she was there to meet us. The place is very clean and perfect for 2 people. The views from the apartment are second to none! It was our first time in Havana and the tours that were offered we highly recommend. They are worth the cost and driver is very nice and highly knowledgeable about Cuba. The breakfast that they offer is worth the price and very tasty with lots of fresh fruit. The safety and security of the building is very good - we never felt unsafe at any time. The proximity of the building to the hotel was very nice in terms of being able to get a cab without waiting. It is a very short nice walk to the old part of the city and the apartment is righ near the Malecon which was great to walk on at any time of the day. They offer private salsa lessons on the deck which were so much fun - the instructors were so professional and really helpful. This penthouse apartment is fantastic - not to be missed - everything was wonderful - we look forward to staying there again!
Thank you so much for having us. I think that Yanitza is absolutely lovely and a great asset. The great thing about the apartment is the incredible view, the terrace which is completely unimpeded and the position on galiano; and of course that it was so well executed. And the mini bar rocks!!
We enjoyed staying at the Tropicana Penthouse. The location was good and we never had a problem finding a pedicab or taxi. Kendra and her staff were fantastic for handling everything from dinner reservations to excellent general advice about Havana. Further, she was very quick to informatively respond to any questions or needs we had during the planning period. The terrace views have to be some of the best in all of Havana. We also appreciated the provided iphone, as well as the air-conditioning as we were there in very hot July. By staying here, you can get a real feel for the pulse of a city undergoing historic change and we felt very safe during our stay. The Hotel Deauville is only one block away and a small park about 4 blocks away, if you have a need for wifi. I should also add that the manager, Yani, was also very kind and helpful and just a phone call away if ever needed. Thanks to Kendra and TP, we had a great visit to Havana and would not hesitate to stay with her again on future visits.
We fell in love with this penthouse, it was gorgeous, very private and very well renovated. The view looking over the city of Havana was something very special, and we will definitely stay here again some day. The staff were wonderful, and breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the city was perfect!
The penthouse is AMAZING! The views are literally everything. You're only one block off from the ocean, and the terrace is so expansive that you literally have 360 views of downtown Havana. The apartment itself is clean and well appointed with a nicely stocked mini-bar. The apartment is modern and it met all our needs. (THAT VIEW!) The neighborhood is awesome, right in central Havana. You can easily walk to Old Havana. The apartment comes with a list of recommendations and I'd highly suggest checking them out! Gabriel met us to check us in and he was kind and professional.
This place is amazing. Centrally located beautiful view, clean and perfect. Gabrielle our contact person there went well above and beyond his job description to help us with any needs that we had. I cannot recommend this place enough. The tours that they arranged for us were also fantastic.. stellar place stellar service.
Walking into Tropicana was like having Havana welcoming you with open arms. There is no landmark in town that can not be seen from the wrap around terrace. Location was ideal mostly since theres a hotel in the corner where you can get taxis which are so difficult to find. Very quiet ( a rarity in Havana) and comfortable
The Tropicana Luxury Penthouse is everything advertised – a romantic sanctuary in the heart of Havana with stunning views from the wrap around balcony. It is clean, bright and well appointed with a hair dryer, iron, coffee, fridge and mini-bar. The Penthouse sits one block from the Malecon in a neighborhood that is “in transition.” There were two decent restaurants nearby – Castas and Tal and Abel. You could easily walk to anything in Old Havana, the more touristy part of the city. Kendra was incredibly helpful in setting up tours, salsa lessons, breakfast, etc. Without her direction we would have been lost. I would suggest visitors who are new to Havana take Aymee’s walking tour the first day. She speaks perfect English and can give you a great sense of the city. We also took a city tour with Yoel. His car was gorgeous and he was a gracious guide. We loved the salsa lessons on the terrace. It was such a unique experience and real gave us a taste of the music and dancing that is so popular throughout Havana. The teachers suggested some clubs with Salsa music that we visited afterwards to try out our new moves......It was beautiful and in the end we felt it was worth every penny to experience this truly unique and special spot.
Great apartment with quite possibly the best rooftop terrace and view in Havana. The location is great with easy access to Old Havana, Centro Havana, and Vedado. Kendra is quick with communication and provides extensive information. The apartment manager is also very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at Tropicana Penthouse in January 2016... What a great location ! .... and what amazing views across the city, just like the photos online. The flat has 'all mod cons' - modern bathroom and a compact fully fitted kitchen for drinks and snacks, which coming from Europe is expected but in many Cuban's homes it's not so normal as we discovered later in Cuba. The area is a few minutes walk from the Old Historic centre which I was really glad of that because it is not quite so intense and really not a typical tourist area but an authentic Havana neighbourhood which may well change in years to come so go soon. We loved our time at this place ... metres from the
( Malecon ) sea front, a short walk from the Parc Central but with the delights frustrations and joys of Habaneros and daily street life around you..... Our check in guy Gabriel was really helpful too as was the woman who delivered breakfast to the flat which was an unexpected and appreciated add on service. ... plus there are a few little gems of places to eat at nearby.

We stayed in the beginning of August 2015. Besides the beautiful penthouse and gorgeous views, our other highlights were:
- The amazing salsa lesson on the terrace;
- Leisurely walks to Old Havana;
- Morning runs along the Malecon, just one block back.
Kendra and Jonathan's tips for things to do and places to dine were always spot-on, and they were available to assist with any questions we had.
Can't wait to be back there again!
First class accommodation, with a beautiful bathroom - We felt like movie stars! The place has a large private terrace with some of the best views we saw of Havana and the sea. We enjoyed taking in the views while eating breakfast on the terrace in the morning, and lounging around with a good book after exploring the city.
This is my favourite place to stay in Havana. It is a luxurious penthouse with a huge terrace with amazing views over Havana...including a picture postcard view of El Morro!.....it also has a huge comfy bed!
I wanted something special for our trip to Havana, and I found it! The penthouse has been renovated to a high standard, so it is like staying in a luxurious hotel penthouse, with it's own private secluded terrace. We fell in love when we walked in, but when we were shown onto the terrace we were speechless......the views from this rooftop are simply amazing....it is like looking down on the entire city from above. We stayed in January 2015. 10 out of 10!
